need more information

Please explain what you are trying to do here. Are you attempting to show only parts of conversations? If so, you need to make sure that the "parent" note (e.g., the message that was directly responded-to) always has hideflag="0" otherwise the responses will be "orphaned" and not display in the view regardless of whether they conform to the selection formula.
